The prints
on the cloth are my own work. I have been inspired by an entry
in a Latin-French dictionary concerning the term "rose".
The corset takes its lines, clolours and ornaments from a short
French poem (printed under the lacings in the back):
« Rose, velouté de volupté,
Aux épines serpentines,
Condensé de la vie,
Ange apte à la furie,
Récolte qui te rudoie,
Perle de sang au doigt »
A belt serves to enhance the waist.
Entirely hand-made, it is an integrating part of the corset. The
buckle (created in collaborationwith Priska Steiner, Winterthur)
– a libertine French engraving from the 17th century printed
on silk and framed in silver – places this corset in the
realm of erotic art.
